TrudgeonGenealogy - About the Name

There is a castle in England named "Trudgeon Castle".

There was a Trudgeon house in Sundridge, Ontario, near Parry Sound, but it has collapsed. The property, 800 acres, is still owned by Trudgeons.

The following (in italics) is an account of the first annual Trudgeon family reunion. It is contained in Judy Jaques's binder of family tree information.

The first annual Trudgeon reunion was held on Sunday, July 14, 1985 at the place of John Trudgeon, R.R.#5 London, Ontario. The day was hot and humid with showers early in the day. The clouds moved out by the afternoon, but the humidity stayed. The swimming pool was a favourite place all afternoon and evening. Supper was served at five, and Roger Trudgeon blessed the meal. A large assortment of food was shared by eighty members of the family. The black corn bugs were right there to sample to food first. After supper, ice cream cones were served. It was donated by Bob Salton (father of Kim (Salton) Trudgeon) and Shaws Dairy Store. A collection was taken to cover the huge assortment of pop. The oldest family member attending was Violet Edna (Trudgeon) Hardie at age 77, where the youngest was David Palmer Trudgeon at age 4.5 months. Those coming farthest away were Zandra (Trudgeon) Parro and Albert Parro and their family, from Calgary, Alberta. It was a great day for catching up on family news and just enjoying each other's company.
