In Summer 1820, John, his parents, and three siblings left for Canada,
immigrating to Kingston, Ontario. When he was nine, they moved again
to Hay Bay. -
John was the first prime minister of Canada and one of the Fathers
of Confederation. From 1867 to 1873 and from 1878 to 1891, John
A. was in power. He died from a series of strokes in Parliament.
